What is the All Quality Matters Certification from TÜV Rheinland? Astronergy explains!
Choosing the right photovoltaic module for your installations is crucial to ensure good performance, warranty, and safety. That’s why opting for certified manufacturers means ensuring quality, efficiency, and reliability. Among the most prestigious certifications in the industry is the All Quality Matters award, granted by TÜV Rheinland, a global organization recognized for its testing and certification. But what does this mean in practice? Astronergy explains.
What is the All Quality Matters Certification?
TÜV Rheinland created the All Quality Matters award to recognize manufacturers who achieve the highest quality standards in their products. This award is granted after a rigorous analysis of various aspects of photovoltaic modules, ensuring that only the best products in the market receive this distinction.
Evaluation Criteria: What makes a module high quality?
To obtain this certification, solar panels must undergo exhaustive tests in TÜV Rheinland’s independent laboratories, where key aspects are evaluated, such as:
1. Efficiency and energy performance: It measures the conversion of sunlight into electricity under different conditions, with a requirement to achieve between 80% and 85% of nominal efficiency.
2. Degradation over time: It ensures that the module retains its power for more years. The expected power loss should be less than 0.5% per year, on average. After 25 years, the total degradation should not exceed 20%, meaning the module must retain at least 80% of its original power. For example, Astronergy’s solar panels guarantee a degradation of 1% or less in the first year, and from the second to the thirtieth year, 0.4% or less.
3. Resistance to environmental factors: Modules must withstand tests of prolonged exposure to extreme conditions. For example, in humidity and temperature tests, the modules must withstand temperature cycles from -40°C to 85°C and humidity cycles up to 85%, without failures compromising the safety or efficiency of the product. Wind and snow resistance must ensure the modules withstand wind loads up to 2400 Pa and snow loads up to 5400 Pa. Astronergy holds the IEC 61215 certification, which sets minimum requirements for design qualification and type approval of terrestrial photovoltaic modules suitable for long-term outdoor operation in general climates, as defined in IEC 60721-2-1.
4. Electrical safety: Verifies compliance with standards for insulation and protection against electrical hazards.
5. Production consistency: Evaluates the uniformity of modules within the same manufacturing line.
Astronergy’s Recognition in All Quality Matters
