The Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Energy Association (ABSOLAR) even projects 30 GW by 2030. Brazil’s Northeast stands out in the renewable energy sector. According to the goals of the Fortaleza 2040 Plan, the city is planning to occupy 10% of its roofs with solar panels to become energy self-sufficient by 2040.
