Brazil Sertão 117MW Solar Park, located in Bahia, is equipped with 349,253 modules. Astronergy has provided 48MW ASTRO modules for the project. Through a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) issued by government, the solar park will generate 275GWh of electricity to meet the demand of 145,000 families and reduce the carbon dioxide emissions by more than 34,000 tons. This large-scale project is expected to contribute to the growing renewable energy market in Latin America. According to a report by T&B Petroleum (August 2022), Bahia continues to be the protagonist of renewable energy in Brazil and leads the country in solar power generation (30.30%). Currently, the state has 41 solar park in operation with an installed solar capacity of 1,349 MW.
