Seeing the production of the first silicon wafers at newly built wafer slicing production lines on April 15, Astronergy Thailand Manufacturing Base (Thailand Base) has finished its upgrading as a base enabled with perfect PV industry chain of wafer, cell and modules, and is expected to produce 5 gigawatts wafers annually after all lines are ready.

Being a global enterprise and tier-1 PV module supplier worldwide, the expansion of Astronergy Thailand Base is a great move to showcase its ambitions to further perfect its industry chain after the construction of its Turkey Manufacturing Base in earlier April.

As an important part of Astronergy’s global manufacturing base strategy, the Thailand Base started production in September 2016. The wafer slicing capacity expansion plan is to have a production capacity of 5GW to supply the photovoltaic cells and module production of the base.

According to the introduction of Cany Pang, the General Manager of Production Center at Astronergy, the wafer slicing product expansion project is planned to have a capacity of 5GW to supply for Thailand Base’s PV cell and module production, and further support the company’s n-type TOPCon capacity growth.

With the utilizations of industry leading processing equipment compatible for all mainstream wafer sizes in the industry, added Mr. Pang, Thailand Base give full play to the cutting power of diamond wires, enabling the production of higher quality silicon wafers, and will drive the employment of over a hundred residents at the local.

Seeing the continuous growth of Astronergy’s manufacturing capacity, the company will further offering more greater performance products to the markets worldwide against the backdrop of increasing new energy demands.
